Fingal Valley

To the south-west of Scamander and via historic St Marys is the Fingal Valley and Evercreech Forest Reserve, home to magnificent strands of White Gums known as the “White Knights” – which at around 90 metres in height are Australia’s tallest white gums. Wander amid beautiful pockets of rainforest under a shady canopy of trees on one of two walks, one of which also takes in beautiful Evercreech Falls, to see these towering giants.

From Evercreech it’s 16 kilometres to Mathinnia Falls Forest Reserve, which features four magnificent waterfalls each cascading more than 17 metres. The beautiful cascades, set amid bushlands peppered with huge tree ferns, can be easily reached after an easy ten-minute stroll from the car park.
